Trinity Family Centre, which is an independent charity, provides a wide range of services to the community. There are close links with the Trinity Methodist Church, as it was founded in 1999 by church trustees, and at least 50% of its trustees are church members, as well as several of the volunteers and beneficiaries. The Family Centre was started following a major refurbishment and remodelling of the whole church in 1998. The Family Centre employs 5 members of staff with a turnover of about £100,000 per year.

The Family Centre runs 5 days/week and has more than 300 people using its facilities every week. It provides services for a wide range of people including single parents, families on low incomes, adults with learning disabilities, teenagers and pensioners. It also provides a community café with low cost home cooked meals. There is a community fridge supplied by Tesco via FareShare charity, making free food available to the local community.

The role of Trinity Family Centre is integral to the vision of Trinity Methodist Church, which is to witness God’s love through outreach and service to the community. A number of people have become members of the church through attending the Family Centre. There are many more who have attended services, particularly at Christmas, who would never otherwise have entered a church.
